JDRF

JDRF\'s mission is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. JDRF is the leading global oragnization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. T1D is an autoimmune disease in which the body\'s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing cells of the pancrease. Over 300,000 Canadians live with T1D. T1D strikes children and adults suddenly, leaving them dependent on injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected or not connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is the largest charitable supporter of T1D research.
