Are you a good listener? The Distress Centre of Ottawa and Region is looking for crisis line phone volunteers. As a volunteer, you can expect: a 59 hour training course, certification in the internationally recognized ASIST suicide intervention workshop, and most importantly, to make a difference in your community. In return, we expect: non-judgemental listening to those in emotional need, 16 hours a month and a minimum commitment of one year (24 shifts of 4 hours plus 12 overnight shifts).
