Looking for volunteers for Women and Children victims of sexual violence in the DRCongo
LOOKING FOR RETIRED VOLUNTEERS
The Congo Yetu Initiative is a grass-roots non-profit organization of passionate, dynamic, and energetic volunteers working in Ottawa and in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). We aim to help women and children victims of sexual violence and children soldiers in the DRC through advocacy and Education. CYI has an exciting new approach to empower women and children and to achieving a DRCongo without gender discrimination, Poverty, war, conflict, and we want you to be a part of it.
Currently we are looking for 10 experienced retired volunteers, who can volunteer as:
Board Member,
Executive Director,
Treasurer,
Secretary,
Administrative Manager,
Event Planner
Outreach Manager.
The time commitment for each role is approximately 10 hours per week. The overall team will have a sync-up meeting once per week but there are no other fixed time commitments. We manage our work by tracking to milestones and assessing progress made on each milestone each week during the sync-up. Between meetings, we coordinate via email and our private online network.

Joining Congo Yetu Initiative%u201DCYI%u201D volunteer opportunity will allow you to become one of the communities at your project. Volunteers have the opportunity to learn new languages and embrace different cultures perhaps changing their way of thinking. The volunteers often create true long-term friendships with people they would never even have believed were alive, let alone consider them good friends. Volunteers often start new hobbies such as peacekeepers, peace builder, women's advocators, first aid or sustainable living.
