Walk to Fight Arthritis - Sunday, June 9, 2013 The Walk to Fight Arthritis is a national event that brings families, friends and organizations together with a common goal - to help the 4.6 million Canadians living with arthritis. This event is taking place on Sunday, June 9th 2013 at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum with registration beginning at 1pm. The Walk offers a 1km or 5km route, entertainment for participants including a Kids Zone and includes a free BBQ lunch and free admission to the museum. Registration volunteers are to arrive on-site at 12:00pm. You will be responsible for collecting pledges forms from participants, verifying pledges, ensuring event waivers are signed, issuing incentive prizes, and attending a training session in advance of event day. Registration volunteers will be handling money and must be 18 years of age or older. Skills/Experience/Qualifications: Previous registration and/or customer service experience is an asset; event experience is also an asset. Working Conditions: You will be outside, and subject to weather conditions. You will be sitting at the registration station. There will be a secure area for you to leave your belongings; snacks and water will be available. Orientation/Training: There will be a brief training session for registration volunteers the week prior to the event, date to be determined, and will take place at our Arthritis Society office at Billings Bridge Shopping Centre. There will also be a review before registration begins on event day.

You will help ensure that event day runs smoothly and efficiently, providing a positive experience for those in attendance. Your work will also help raise funds to further The Arthritis Society's mission of providing leadership and funding for research, advocacy and solutions to improve the quality of life for Canadians affected by arthritis.

You will be helping to raise money for a very important cause that touches the lives of millions. You will also receive a free BBQ lunch and free admission to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.
