The VOscars is a highlight of the year for the city’s volunteer and non-profit community. The event recognizes and celebrates volunteer efforts made by community leaders and local volunteers who dedicatetheir time to support Ottawa-based non-profit organizations.
The 2016 VOscars was held on April 28th. The event was hosted by Leanne Cusack, attended by over 200 guests and honoured 21 outstanding people and organizations in our city.

The 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Coralie Lalonde for her dedication to volunteerism and the non-profit organizations who serve our community.
Coralie is the founder and CEO of Katsura Investments, an early stage private equity investment group established in 1999. She has been honoured with various awards for her service including the YMCA-YWCA Woman of Distinction award for Community Entrepreneurial Spirit, the Mayor’s Community Builder Award and the Ottawa Business Journal’s Forty under 40. She has served on the Boards of the Junior Achievement (Chair), Volunteer Ottawa (Chair), the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary (Chair), and the Ottawa Heart Institute Research Corporation, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, CHEO and the Community Foundation of Ottawa. Coralie co-founded and led the Tech Venture Challenge for 10 years and co-founded engage!, a program to encourage entrepreneurs to engage with the community.
