Rosalind Bell has served on various boards and committees since her retirement ten years ago
but began volunteering some years before that.
Rosalind has been a member of the Canadian Amateur Musicians – Musiciens Amateurs du Canada (CAMMAC) Ottawa-Gatineau
Regional Management Committee and a member of the Board of Directors of CAMMAC since 2014, currently serving as secretary with both groups. Rosalind is a lifelong chorister, finding amateur choirs wherever her career in public service took her across Canada. She currently sings with the Canadian Centennial Choir and with CAMMAC Ottawa-Gatineau. She has volunteered as the singer at the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival Breast Cancer Survivor Flower Ceremony for the past several years.
She is a keen dragon boat paddler. She paddled with Busting Out, Ottawa’s Breast Cancer Survivor dragon boat team, for several years, volunteering in various roles. She was a member of and chaired the Board of Directors of Breast Cancer Action Ottawa as well as serving on the Board of Directors of Canadians Abreast, a national dragon boat programme.
She volunteers with the Dragons for All, a programme for adults with special needs. She raced in both Ice Dragon Boat festivals in Ottawa.
Ros volunteers in various capacities with Habitat for Humanity Greater Ottawa, both on house builds as a site liaison, and also with the ReStore operations and at trade shows.
