World Skills Employment Centre is an award winning leader in the support and promotion of newcomer talent. Founded as a settlement service in 1997 by Local Agencies Serving Immigrants (LASI), World Skills now helps thousands of immigrants to integrate into the local labour market through job search support, language training, cultural competency building, and volunteering.
With access to the largest database of talent from around the world, World Skills helps hundreds of local employers to source, recruit, and pre-screen internationally trained individuals for a variety of positions within the public, private, and not-for-profit sector. Over 300 Ottawa employers and 20,000 internationally trained professionals have benefited from World Skills services in the past 10 years.
World Skills supports the integration of newcomers into the Canadian labour market through partnerships, pre-employment services, employer engagement programs, and by promoting volunteer opportunities to build diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
