COVID-19 Update

VO is recruiting and deploying volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19 in Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Lanark County and Renfrew County while ensuring proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Please see the intake portals for volunteers, for members, and for other agencies on our hompage. VO’s COVID 19 volunteer deployment program is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund and the Ottawa Community Foundation.

Downtown Bank Fire & Ice Festival

On February 8th and 9th, celebrate the warmth and the chill of the winter season with Fire & Ice Festival on Downtown Bank Street, featuring an amazing outdoor QuietEvents Silent Disco! We encourage you to take a photo with the many interactive ice sculptures while being entertained by our Fire & Ice performers.
Warm up inside one of our businesses but don't be surprised if you catch a glimpse of live window painter making her way around, Stick around for some food and drinks while you wait for our Silent Disco by QuietEvents taking place at Snider Plaza on BOTH nights. We promise to keep you warm, with a giant tent, heaters, music to make you dance, snacks and Flora Hall brewery on site this will be a fire hot night to melt away the winter blues.

Our volunteers will be responsible for the night time events. Duties include, but not limited to, helping out with the Silent Disco, checking IDs and handing out ID confirmed bracelets at the warm tents, assisting with the s'more bar, pumping up the crowd, etc. Volunteer time is (registration) 7:30pm - 11:00pm Feb 8th and 9th.
