This workshop will engage Managers of Volunteers and Coordinators of Volunteers in a “best practices” sharing session. Network with fellow volunteer engagement professionals and come prepared to share and learn about strategies to encourage volunteer participation during orientation and training sessions; engaging staff when orienting volunteers, and developing online learning materials.

Gayle has been the Volunteer Development Coordinator at the Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre for 15 years. Gayle has worked in the field of Volunteer Management for 30 years and became certified in Volunteer Management in 1996 (one of the longest certified practitioners in Ottawa still working in the field). She has extensive experience in volunteer management and fundraising. Previously she worked for Big Sisters of Ottawa-Carleton as the Coordinator of Volunteers. She has received 2 awards from United Way and in 2000 she also received the Community Builder Award. She received the Province of Ontario Leading Women Building Communities award in 2011. She received a Heart of Gold 2015 award. She has written extensively on the topic of Volunteer Management, given numerous workshops and spoken at Volunteer Management conferences. She mentors many people locally, nationally and internationally in the field of Volunteer Management. She continues to be a Big Sister to her Little Sister Julie (with whom she has been matched for over 25 years).

Receipt of registration will be confirmed by e-mail or best alternative. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within five (5) business days prior to an event. If cancellation is received with more than five (5) business days before the event, a $5.00 administration fee will apply. Registered participants who fail to attend an event will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice. Registration can be transferred to another member of your organization, if you are unable to attend
