Coming Together Conference- Employing Ability
March 30, 2017
Service Coordination (SCS) is seeking area Social Enterprises to participate in our 5th annual spring conference Coming Together: Employing Ability, designed for families and individuals 14+ with developmental disability or autism. This year’s coming together event will take place on Saturday May 6th
We are looking at several opportunities for participants this year, including an interactive session where participants can peruse different stations that teach them a particular skill set and lets them explore, hands on, services offered by the social enterprise. This may highlight skills that may be of interest to a person for future work/volunteer opportunities.
Our goal is to develop a stream of programming for the day for a group of youth and young adults who would participate in workshops related to pre-employment skill development. This stream of programming would flow alongside the main events outlined below.
You may have also be interested donating promotional ‘swag’ items to be included in participants’ grab-bags.
Based on previous events, the audience is expected to be approximately 150 participants of mostly parents and caregivers. Some youth, siblings, extended family and professionals also attended previous years.
