VO Workshop: Tech Tips & Tricks

You will learn about lots of great software programs that will:

  1.  Allow you to save your 50+ passwords so that you can easily access them.
  2. Create online registration forms that summarize your data for you.
  3. Share calendars and files with colleagues and family.
  4. Teleconference for free!
  5. Create and mass email professional e-newsletters.

Do you take advantage of the ability to use your phone or table to make life easier?  There is so much out there and so many apps to choose from, how do you know which ones are best for you?

Learn about applications that you can download to your phone or tablet which allow you to:

  1. Track your time (including breaks and expenses).
  2. Pay for downtown parking without needing a credit card or cash.
  3. Receive payments for events, raffles, or sales.
  4. Map your route without using your limited data.
  5. Track the weather and when the next storm will hit. 

These are just a few of the amazing software applications that are out there that can make your life easier for work and home life.

Paula Coons, Director of Operations at Volunteer Ottawa. Paula has been with Volunteer Ottawa for over ten years.  She has 15 years’ experience in bookkeeping and Financial Management in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sector.

Cancellation policy: 

Receipt of registration will be confirmed by e-mail or best alternative. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within five (5) business days prior to an event. If cancellation is received with more than five (5) business days before the event, a $5.00 administration fee will apply. Registered participants who fail to attend an event will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice. Registration can be transferred to another member of your organization, if you are unable to attend.
