Web Accessibility for Not-for-Profits

March 21, 2019, 1:00 - 3:00 PM

This month's talk will have two keynote speakers:

1) SEO and Web Accessibility

by Ed Brandon

When developing a new website, businesses often think about mobile responsiveness and aesthetics, however, search engine optimization (SEO is key to being seen and accessibility is critical and the law. This will be a solid introduction to both.

Accessibility guidelines are in a huge state of flux at this time, with much uncertainty about what to do and what not to do. This is true even at the level of the committee that sets the guidelines.

Ed will provide a good introduction to these two with several tips to achieving both objectives.

2) How to create a true responsible website

by Osamu Wakabayashi

There are many things that can go wrong when you switch to view a website on mobile: columns arranged on the wrong order, headlines get too big, padding and margin not of the right size... The list goes on.

This is a challenge not only for designers, but for the simple WordPress user as well. It can be frustrating. You buy a theme that promises to be mobile responsive, only to find out the design breaks on mobile!

Let me show you how to create a true responsive website with WordPress that look perfect across all devices.
