VO Workshop: Website design - WordPress for Non-Profit Organizations

Your website is the destination for your current and potential supporters to find all the information they need to know about you. It needs to be as user-friendly and informative as possible, to keep these individuals engaged, sharing information about you on social media, and coming back to support your organization in the future. WordPress is a free content management system that allows you to build and manage your own Website or blog.

In this introductory workshop, participants will learn:

  • Why WordPress is one of the best web development platforms for NPOs – great for persuading your manager to approve it!
  • How to set up a basic website using WordPress
  • How to find and use plug-ins

Who should attend:

Anyone who is interested in creating or improving a WordPress website.

Your Instructor:

Osamu Wakabayashi, Designer and Speaker at Zen Ideas, has over 15 years of experience as a marketing and communication manager in both private and public sectors. In addition to his design talent and passion for creating graphic design, enriching brand development, Osamu focuses his expertise in delivering seminars/workshops to the business community and assisting them in developing WordPress websites, presentation and marketing strategies.


If paying by cheque, please make payable to Volunteer Ottawa and mail in prior to the workshop date to secure your spot. In the note section please write the date, your name and your organization. E.g., September 26 workshop - John Doe from Volunteer Ottawa.

Cancellation Policy
Receipt of registration will be confirmed by e-mail or best alternative. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within five (5) business days prior to an event. If cancellation is received with more than five (5) business days before the event, a $5.00 administration fee will apply. Registered participants who fail to attend an event will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice. Registration can be transferred to another member of your organization, if you are unable to attend.
