BO est en train de recruter et de déployer des bénévoles pour répondre aux besoins en matière de bénévolat liés spécifiquement à la COVID-19 à Ottawa, à Prescott-Russell, dans le comté de Lanark et dans le comté de Renfrew tout en assurant des protocoles de dépistage et de formation appropriés pour protéger la santé des bénévoles et de ceux qu'ils aident. Veuillez trouver les portails d'accueil des bénévoles, des membres et des autres organisations sur notre page d'accueil. Le programme de déploiement de volontaires COVID 19 de BO est soutenu par le Fonds de soutien communautaire d'urgence du gouvernement du Canada et la Fondation communautaire d'Ottawa.

VO Workshop: Social Media for Non-Profit Organizations

More than half of Canadians use social media. Does your non-profit make the most of free social media tools to recruit volunteers, serve clients, influence decision makers and motivate supporters to take action? By actively engaging in this training, participants will:

  • Learn about Facebook and Twitter's role in an organization's communications strategy.
  • Get tips to create great content that engages followers.
  • Be guided through free tools (e.g. Hootsuite) to use and measure social media.
  • Discuss social media policy best practices.
  • Examine current email blasts-tools and measurement
  • Learn through examples and more examples

Who should attend:

Anyone who is interested in making the most of social media.

Instructor:

As Owner and Chief Strategist of Village PR (villagepr.ca), Heather Badenoch delivers communications consulting, services and training to Ottawa charities. Heather serves on the board of directors for Volunteer Ottawa and the Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary, and is the former Vice President of the Canadian Public Relations Society Ottawa-Gatineau chapter. She is also a proud alumna of the Carleton University Sprott School of Business. Dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people and animals, Heather has been a volunteer foster parent since 1998 with Hopeful Hearts Dog Rescue and is a volunteer career mentor with the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization.

Cancellation policy: 

Receipt of registration will be confirmed by e-mail or best alternative. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within five (5) business days prior to an event. If cancellation is received with more than five (5) business days before the event, a $5.00 administration fee will apply. Registered participants who fail to attend an event will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice. Registration can be transferred to another member of your organization, if you are unable to attend.
