More than half of Canadians use social media. Does your non-profit make the most of free social media tools to recruit volunteers, attract clients, and influence decision makers?
Anyone who is interested in making the most of social media. You should have your own accounts on both Facebook and Twitter - either for yourself personally or for your organization. This workshop assumes you already have a basic knowledge of Facebook and Twitter.
Heather Badenoch believes in the value of not-for-profits to affect change for people, animals and our environment. As the Chief Strategist at Village PR (villagepr.ca) she provides communications planning and implementation, public relations, social media engagement, and training across Canada.
Heather is a past board member with Volunteer Ottawa and the past Vice President of the Canadian Public Relations Society Ottawa-Gatineau chapter. She is a volunteer with Community Veterinary Outreach, the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre annual Christmas Tree sale, and has been a volunteer foster parent with dog rescues since 1998.
She received the 2014 Outstanding Contribution Award from Volunteer Ottawa and the 2005 City of Ottawa Civic Appreciation Award for Community Activism (Group) along with the HOPE SummerFest planning team.
