Session #III: Volunteer Engagement Opportunities
for Individuals Living with a Developmental Disability

Funded by the Ottawa Community Foundation and in collaboration with Chez Anh, Families Matter Co-op Inc. invites you to join us for some tasty treats and a great conversation on the topic of ‘Volunteer Engagement Opportunities for Individuals Living with a Developmental Disability’.

The Coffee House series is designed for parents, siblings and caregivers to get together and share knowledge and experiences, build networks and access essential information on community services, programs and support systems.

When: Tuesday, April 24, 2018 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)

Where: Chez Anh

Chez Anh, a small Vietnamese/French Café, is located at 435 Sunnyside, Ottawa, Ontario K1S 0S6. Fantastic treats, drinks and coffee will be available for purchase to take back home! Feel free to contact us should you have any questions about accessibility.

Guest Speakers:

Paula Coons, previously Director of Operations, worked at Volunteer Ottawa for almost 14 years and has managed the Guidance Program which supports people interested in finding a volunteer opportunity that is meaningful to them. She is currently in the process of partnering with Service Coordination on a program that offers direct support to people with developmental disabilities in finding the best opportunity for them.

Paula will be joined at the event by Jolyne Pepe. Jolyne is the Quality Assurance Officer at Service Coordination for People with Developmental Disabilities and has worked at the organization for over 15 years. She has a passion for continuous improvement, cross-sector partnership and innovation, collaboration and empowering families through information sharing. Jolyne believes in the power of social capital for improving the lives of people with developmental disabilities in our community.
