A staff member accused of theft, facility-wide food poisoning, the death of a client, or a flu outbreak. Every organization is vulnerable to a reputational crisis. More so when you support vulnerable people. It’s in the news every day.
When crisis occurs, people want information. Unless you are the immediate, ongoing, and honest source of information about the situation, then the information void will be filled with rumours. This will only make things worse.
This workshop will help you plan for a crisis and put in place the steps to follow. You will learn:

Heather Badenoch believes in the value of not-for-profits to support our most vulnerable people and animals. She provides strategic communications planning and implementation, public relations, social media engagement, and training across Canada.
Heather is a board member with Volunteer Ottawa and the past Vice President and Membership Chair of the Canadian Public Relations Society Ottawa-Gatineau chapter. She is a volunteer with Community Veterinary Outreach, the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre annual Christmas Tree sale, and has been a volunteer foster parent with dog rescues since 1998.
She received the 2014 Outstanding Contribution Award from Volunteer Ottawa and the 2005 City of Ottawa Civic Appreciation Award for Community Activism (Group) along with the HOPE SummerFest planning team.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Heather is a proud alumna of the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University and Merivale High School.
She and her husband, Paul, can often be found walking their rescue dog, Abbey, or taking on yet another house project.

Receipt of registration will be confirmed by e-mail or best alternative. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received within five (5) business days prior to an event. If cancellation is received with more than five (5) business days before the event, a $5.00 administration fee will apply. Registered participants who fail to attend an event will be invoiced for the full fee, due 30 days from the date of the invoice. Registration can be transferred to another member of your organization, if you are unable to attend.
