Mise à jour COVID-19

BO est en train de mettre en œuvre un plan axé sur le recrutement et le déploiement de bénévoles pour répondre aux besoins spécifiques en matière de bénévoles liés à la COVID-19. Dans le cadre de ce plan, nous allons travailler avec Santé publique Ottawa et avec d'autres agences pour assurer des protocoles de dépistage et de formation appropriés afin de protéger la santé des bénévoles et de ceux qu'ils aident. D’ici une semaine, les bénévoles pourront s'inscrire à des occasions de bénévolat liés spécifiquement à la COVID-19, y compris du bénévolat virtuel, de la livraison de nourriture et du transport. Les organisations pourront également publier et / ou envoyer à BO leurs besoins spécifiques pour le jumelage de bénévoles liés à la COVID-19. D’ici là, les organisations peuvent consulter notre Mise à jour COVID-19 pour les membres et les bénévoles peuvent consulter notre Mise à jour COVID-19 pour les bénévoles afin d’avoir accès à des ressources et des informations supplémentaires.

VO Workshop: Board 201 - A Complete Look at Being on a Board of Directors

Workshop_Images/Board 201Whether you are currently on a Board of Directors with a not for profit or charitable organization or you’re seeking a position on a Board, this is the one “must-take workshop” for ensuring effective leadership and accountability. Effective governance is a crucial element of an organization's success.

Learning objectives

During this full-day workshop, with practical applications and discussion we will:

  • Explore governance, board structures and the roles of board members and staff
  • Examine the primary areas of board responsibility
  • Discuss risk management and how to minimize organizational and personal risk
  • Identify tips and tools to work effectively as a Board

Who Should Attend

  • Board members and anyone thinking of joining a Board
  • Past members of a Board of Directors and who want to explore the experience in a structured way
  • Organization staff, e.g. Volunteer Resource Managers or EDs, who recruit Board members

To access Zoom on a phone or tablet, visit the relevant App store and search for Zoom. Download Zoom Cloud Meeting. About 5 mins before your meeting or course, open the app, click Join Meeting, and enter in the meeting number you will receive from the organizer.
