Volunteer Ottawa is pleased to announce a FREE workshop being offered in partnership with Volunteer Toronto.
Developed specifically with the challenges of Long-Term Care Homes and Hospice Programs in mind, this workshop will cover topics from planning for long-term care/hospice roles to maintaining boundaries with vulnerable clients and addressing negative perceptions of volunteering with the sick.
During her time at Volunteer Toronto, Kasandra James has provided volunteer management support and advice to over 650 non-profit organizations across the city. She is an expert in youth volunteerism, and has led Volunteer Toronto’s Youth Auditor Program to help organizations engage high school volunteers in more meaningful ways.
As part of Volunteer Toronto's new specialized training project, Kasandra has conducted an in-depth assessment of the unique volunteer management needs and challenges of five non-profit sub-sectors, consulting with relevant provincial associations and communities to help inform best practices. She is using that knowledge to deliver workshops across Ontario that give volunteer managers the specialized training and resources they need to help their programs thrive.
Visit vmtraining.volunteertoronto.ca to learn more and register for this workshop. Volunteer managers who are unable to attend in-person workshops can also access courses online at any time.
