Human_Resources_101.jpgHow do I prevent discrimination and address diversity within the workplace?

What exactly is a “toxic work environment”?

I need to down-size our workforce, now what?

Volunteer Ottawa is partnering with Nelligan O’Brien Payne and the Human Resources Professionals Association (the “HRPA”) to offer this condensed course in human resources management.

 Learning objectives:

This workshop will aim to provide participants with an overview of common human resources issues, including an introduction to the following:

  •  Hours of work, vacation pay, and parental leave
  •  Policies and procedures to address and prevent workplace harassment and bullying
  •  Understanding your obligation to accommodate employees
  •  Statutory and common law notice entitlements upon termination

The workshop will cover basic Ontario legislation, including:

  • The Employment Standards Act, 2000
  • The Ontario Human Rights Code
  • The Occupational Health and Safety Act

Your Instructor:
