Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre offers an outpatient treatment program in English and French for women 18 years and older who are experiencing problems with substance use or gambling. Our approach is holistic and women centered. We help women identify and understand the issues in their lives that may be leading to their addictive behaviours. The Treatment Program is 2 years long and consists of: Assessment, Pre-treatment, an Intensive Program and Follow-up Support. We also have an Early Childhood Development Addictions Program for pregnant women with addictions. Our Health Promotion Program offers workshops for women addressing issues such as self-esteem, stress and change. We also provide a Sexual Abuse Support Program for our clients in recovery.
Board Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month beginning at 5:30 pm. There are no Board Meetings in the summer. After our AGM in June, the Board Meetings resume in September. For our governance model, we're a modified collective and a 'working board'. Board and Staff members work together on various committees.
