The Ottawa Tool Library (OTL) is a non-profit tool lending library in Ottawa located at 877A Boyd Ave in Westboro. We offer access to four categories of tools: hand tools, power tools, garden tools, and kitchen tools. We are a volunteer-driven organization and are always looking for community-minded individuals to share their talents, time, and energy to the cause.
Since 2019, we also have a WorkSpace where people can work on their projects in a fully stocked woodshop.

As a non-profit social enterprise, the Ottawa Tool Library (OTL) relies on contributions from a range of talented individuals to fulfill its mission of providing access to tools and skills throughout the local community. Volunteers are essential to permit the OTL to lend tools to its membership at minimal cost, permitting access to a broad range of tools. Our mission is to engage and empower the community to participate in sharing resources by providing access to tools and skills for everybody.

The Ottawa Tool Library (OTL) is a non-profit tool lending library in Ottawa located near Carling Ave and the 417. We offer four categories of tools: hand tools, power tools, lawn and garden tools, and kitchen tools. We are entirely volunteer-driven, and are always looking for community-minded individuals to lend their talents, time, and energy to the cause.

Tool Ninjas (time commitment 4-8 hours a month) are needed to be on hand when our Library is open. In the Library, our Tool Ninjas advise members in choosing the right tools for the job, as well as in their proper and safe use.

Successful Tool Ninjas will have the following qualifications:

* Be friendly, outgoing, and comfortable in engaging with our enthusiastic members;
* Be open and accepting of cultural and individual diversity, in both our membership and our volunteers.
* Be comfortable in advising members on their projects – tools, materials, and techniques – and in admitting lack of knowledge if necessary.

If you'd like to contribute your time and expertise to the fastest growing constructive community in Ottawa, please let us know!
