VO is recruiting and deploying volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19 in Ottawa, Prescott-Russell, Lanark County and Renfrew County while ensuring proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Amethyst Women's Addiction Centre offers an outpatient treatment program in English and French for women 18 years and older who are experiencing problems with substance use or gambling. Our approach is holistic and women centered. We help women identify and understand the issues in their lives that may be leading to their addictive behaviours. The Treatment Program is 2 years long and consists of: Assessment, Pre-treatment, an Intensive Program and Follow-up Support. We also have an Early Childhood Development Addictions Program for pregnant women with addictions. Our Health Promotion Program offers workshops for women addressing issues such as self-esteem, stress and change. We also provide a Sexual Abuse Support Program for our clients in recovery.
