The Ottawa Paw Pantry is the area’s dedicated non-profit pet food resource and was established to help prevent the abandonment or surrender of animals when their families cannot afford to feed them.

When your pets have become extensions of your family, you want nothing but the best for them. Giving up a family pet because you can’t provide food is a very difficult experience for both humans and the animal.

The Ottawa Paw Pantry provides temporary food assistance to qualifying low-income pet owners who are currently unable to afford food for their pets and may be forced to give up their pets without food assistance.

**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are not looking for more volunteers at this time. Please check back frequently as we will be updating this page as the public health situation evolves.**

Volunteer Opportunities

Organization: Ottawa Paw Pantry
The Ottawa Paw Pantry relies on its Outreach Committee to help raise funds, spread the word, and connect us to the Ottawa Community.

The Ottawa Paw Pantry is looking for individuals interested in Event and Fundraising. If you’re a creative thinker and “go-getter,” you’re exactly what we’re looking for to help us raise funds and create awareness for the Ottawa Paw Pantry.

Working with the Outreach team, this volunteer position will work towards bringing dynamic and resourceful ideas for new events and fundraising initiatives to life. These volunteers will:
- Brainstorm and strategize possible fundraisers and community events
- Show initiative and suggest potential event/fundraiser ideas
- Think “outside the box”
- Liaise with community partners and fundraising organizers to establish costs, rules, and expectations
- During in-person events, participate in community events, including set-up and take-down of the event tent, table, banners, merchandise, etc, when possible.
