Volunteer Opportunities

Barricades:
Set-Up and Tear-Down of the barricades blocking major intersections.  Making sure that no car is permitted to drive on the course. This is very important for runner’s safety, it is our main priority.  Barricade is one of the most important volunteer position to make sure a race goes smoothly.
Course Marshall
Our course marshals will cheer and give directional aid to athletes. You will be stationed at turns, corners and intersections along the bike/run course. You will need to have your own transportation to get to your assigned location. You will be directing and cheering athletes on the designated course – you will not have to direct traffic. This is another area where you will need a “big” voice so athletes can hear any instructions you give while the race is going on. Race time is a busy time and a loud, clear and calm voice is really important.
Major intersections will have police support to direct vehicular traffic. Minimum age is 16; youth may volunteer here if accompanied by their parent or a guardian.
Water Stations
You will be escorted to one of two locations along the course route. Once at your location, water and cups will be available for you to fill. Stock the table with filled water cups prior to race start and be sure there are enough for all participants for the duration of the race and walk. Please be sure to keep the area neat at all times.
