Volunteer Opportunities

Organization: Mothercraft Ottawa
Mothercraft Ottawa's award winning Birth and Parent Companion Program is seeking volunteer Birth Companions for the Spring 2019 training.
This program recruits, screens, trains and matches volunteers to provide prenatal, labour/delivery, postpartum and parenting support to at risk families in Ottawa. Please note that Birth Companions do not perform medical tasks and are there solely for emotional, social, and sometimes physical support for the family. In addition, they are responsible for helping the family get connected to other support services in the city.
Applicants must be female and over the age of 18 to apply.
Those who speak multiple languages are considered an asset. We are actively seeking Arabic speakers, but all languages are welcome.
Location: 475 Evered Ave. Ottawa ON K1Z 5K9
