Desired Skills, Abilities and Experience
• Previous board and committee experience
• Bilingual / Trilingual
• Established community network and ability to network on behalf of a charitable organization
• Willingness to chair a subcommittee to the Board of Directors
• Exemplary skills in additional competencies (i.e. legal, communications, marketing, medical (mental health), etc.)
Duties and Expectations
• To be informed in and engage in matters of operations, strategic planning and governance
• Attend and participate, lending expertise and insight to monthly board meetings
• Willingness to lead or join one or more of CLK’s Committees and working groups
• Voting on and discussing appropriate agenda items
• Being an advocate for Christie Lake Kids in the greater community
• Occasionally attending CLK events, programs, camp or other CLK related activities
Qualifications
• Proven leadership and service to the not for profit charitable sector
• Strong English-speaking, reading and writing skills are required; other language skills are a strong and desired asset
• Current (and clean) police records check
