A Company of Fools is Ottawa's only independent professional Shakespeare company. We are a not-for-profit corporation and a registered charity. We provide programming all year round. The mandate for the Torchlight Shakespeare series, our outdoor summer event, is to bring family-friendly 90-minute productions of the works of William Shakespeare to Ottawa City Parks and other outdoor spaces. Inspired by the rogue Elizabethan players that once entertained audiences out of doors and at the Globe theatre, we have built a reputation as a highly physical troupe doing interactive shows both indoors and out.
