Odyssey is Ottawa's premier professional open-air theatre. Since 1985, our award-winning productions have been delighting thousands each summer on our stage along the banks of the Rideau River in Strathcona Park.

We create theatre rooted in masked performance and Commedia dell’Arte, infused with other physical arts including puppetry, clown, bouffon and dance-theatre. Our art transports audiences to heightened imaginative worlds, providing a new lens through which to see our own.

Creating new plays and translations of international works for masked physical performance is our passion. Through satire, myth and folktale, we tell powerful stories that explore and celebrate the human spirit.

We push the boundaries of our art form, experimenting with groundbreaking performance styles to enrich our work. Embracing collaborations with diverse artists expands our theatrical language and opens our stage to new voices. We provide artists and youth with specialized training in our field.

Odyssey is a registered charitable organization governed by a diverse volunteer Board of Directors, drawn from the community.
