Living our values

We excel in the provision of evidence based health care and services for the vulnerable and medically complex, with a focus on persons who require sub-acute, geriatric or palliative care.

Inspired by our foundress, Mother Élisabeth Bruyère, we are a Catholic health care organization that optimizes the quality of life of people within the diverse community we serve in French and English.

We do this through our commitment to excellence, education, research and innovation, regional partnerships, and bringing care closer to home.

Les possibilités de bénévolat

Our arts and crafts studio operates primarily on a “drop-in” basis. Patients are able to drop by Monday and/or Wednesday afternoons to colour, paint or simply be “artsy”. This is an ongoing program and we need someone who is comfortable assisting patients with their projects in small groups, is creative and energetic. Ideally, this position is suitable for someone with an arts background or has a general interest in arts and crafts and is available and willing to take the lead.

Our classical music program takes place every Monday from 1-3 pm. Patients have the opportunity to temporarily escape as you take them through a musical journey of YouTube videos talking about musical pieces, and bring into context key elements you wish to discuss such as history, the author, instruments etc. As a leader of the program, you would be responsible for downloading musical content on our tablet, planning your weekly session, portering patients etc.
This is suited for someone who shares a passion for music, notably classical. It is also great for someone who is energetic, independent and reliable and who can take on initiative.

Supporting the faith life and practice of our patients is extremely important. Receiving communion is one way that our Roman Catholic patients live out their faith and strengthen their spirit. If you are Roman Catholic and wish to offer pastoral care, consider joining our team of Eucharistic Ministers.
