The Woodshop Program Leader will provide an interesting, stimulating variety of programs to enable seniors to socialize, improve and maintain their fitness level and learn new skills.This program allows members to work on projects which require woodworking tools and equipment. The Woodshop program learder is responsible for ensuring the Woodshop policy and manual is followed.

Community Support Services (CSS) helps seniors and adults with physical disabilities who live in their own homes.

The CSS Office Volunteer assists CSS employees with office related tasks.

Telephone Assurance Program (TAP) Callers provide a daily call for security to check in with our clients. Our clients are seniors and adults with physical disabilities. Volunteers call Monday-Friday between 8:30-9:15 am from work or home. Coverage is available for occasional holidays or illness-related absences.

Using a simple teleconferencing system, the SCWW is a new initiative that will bring free programs/services to isolated seniors and adults with physical disabilities. It will remove present barriers for those who cannot access recreation centres in person due to financial constraints, transportation, illness and/or mobility issues. Clients will have access to health, wellness, recreational and education programs, while establishing friendships and creating a new sense of belonging to the community and empowerment without having to leave their homes. All they need is a touch-tone phone. We are looking for positive, friendly, welcoming, non-judgemental volunteers who have experience with, or who are interested in facilitating and moderating weekday sessions. Volunteers are given some flexibility in their sessions, and maybe able to facilitate some programs from home. Some activities/programs: Book Clubs; Fun Facts; Did you know?; Riddles/Jokes; Brain Teasers; Current Events; Biographies; Old Time Radio Plays; Music Musings and many more!

The Facility Volunteer would assistant the Facility coordinator with light tasks. The duties may include: General cleaning, such as washing windows, sweeping floors, walking the property for trash pick up, light dusting, assisting to assemble items such as chairs and tables, helping with set up and take down for programs and events, and other duties that are assigned from the Facility coordinator. There will be some walking, bending and carrying depending on duties assigned.

The Good Companions are looking for friendly and outgoing receptionists to answer calls and direct them to the appropriate staff. They also provide general information in-person and by phone. Weekly Shift available: Monday's 9am - 12pm.This position requires an individual who is courteous and professional with excellent communication skills in English. Experience is an asset. This position requires the ability to multitask. Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator if interested.

Community Support Services at The Good Companions help seniors and adults with physical disabilities who live in their own homes. The Grocery Bus program enables these clients to go shopping, with assistance, to local grocery stores and to have their purchases delivered to their homes. The program also offers an opportunity to have a social outing. Volunteers assist at the grocery store (Monday, Tuesday or Thursday availability)
