WHAT DO OUR VOLUNTEERS DO?
Frontier College Ottawa's Homework Club program provides homework help to children and youth all over Canada. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, our Homework Clubs will be held online for 2021. Frontier College Ottawa is currently looking for tutors to help children and youth grades 1 to 6 (ages 6 to 12) with their French homework as well as their French reading and writing skills. Depending on your competencies, you can also help them with other subjects, including English, math and science.
Volunteering with the Homework Club Program is an excellent way to gain experience in early childhood education or literacy tutoring! It is also an ideal environment in which to contribute meaningfully to your community. We require no prior teaching experience and provide you with all of the training and materials you need. Just bring your communication skills, patience, enthusiasm and love of learning!
WHERE AND WHEN DO OUR ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE?
Tutoring sessions occur once a week on the Zoom video conference call and last approximately one hour each. Sessions are scheduled based on tutors' and learners' availability.
HOW CAN YOU APPLY?
Apply directly on Volunteer Ottawa or contact phoyeck@frontiercollege.ca. Note that candidates aged 18 or over will be required to provide a vulnerable sector Police Check. All candidates will be required to provide three references upon request.
We look forward to meeting you!
