Volunteer Liaison for Monthly Community Meal

Support a team of Chaplaincy volunteers to serve a nutritious and delicious brunch to members of the Carlington community by acting as a City of Ottawa keyholder from approximately 9-12 on the third Saturday of each month. Volunteer must be over the age of 18, follow City of Ottawa safety guidelines, and support the team with preparation, serving, and clean-up. CPR and First Aid course, plus Police Record Check required; can be acquired free of charge after application.

Our community brunches draw about 50 individuals in the Carlington Community. The community centre is located at 1475 Caldwell; it is widely used by community groups, but owned by the City of Ottawa, which means that our key holder volunteer follow City guidelines for the opening/closing and use of the space. We have a team of volunteers who bring the food for the brunch, prepare it on-site, and clean-up after the event. Our key holder is the liaison for the volunteer group and the community members who attend the brunches.

We are seeking an adult volunteer who:
- has experience leading and supporting a team (of volunteers/staff)
- has excellent communication skills
- is punctual and reliable
- is comfortable establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries to ensure the space is safe for all participants (large group)
