THE E-VOLUNTEER’S ROLE

Placement purpose and objectives
The successful candidate will work with Cuso International’s Fundraising Officer to provide enhanced support to French speaking volunteers to achieve their fundraising commitment.

As a registered charity, fundraising is vital for Cuso International. We expect each volunteer, regardless of placement length, to raise $2,000. All volunteers can access support from Cuso International to achieve the fundraising goal.

The successful candidate will learn about fundraising for international development, how to motivate others to fundraise, and online peer to peer fundraising tools.


Likely Activities and Expected Outputs

The successful candidate will deliver a one-hour fundraising session in French during the 5-day training volunteers receive prior to their departure. The session will equip volunteers with tools to make their Pitch, how to tap into their Passions and Plan their fundraising activities.

English/French versions of the presentation will be provided along with one on one training on how best to deliver the content and answer frequently asked questions.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Academic qualifications (required and desirable)
- Candidate must be fluently bilingual (French & English)
- Completed or working towards completing a post-secondary school degree in a related field

Professional qualifications (required and desirable)
- Experience with fundraising, campaigns and strategy is desirable but not necessary
- Ideal candidate has a positive, enthusiastic personality
- Comfortable and experienced with public speaking, hosting presentations, and interacting with others

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

Volunteers should be familiar and proficient with PowerPoint.


TRAINING AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Volunteers will receive one-on-one training and the opportunity to observe the session being delivered in English.
