The International Talent Acquisition Centre (In-TAC), a Division of the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre, would like to invite you to join our Mentorship Program.

We provides volunteer opportunities to experienced professionals to be positive role models to highly skilled new-Canadians who are looking to integrate into the local economy and pursue career advancement in Canada.

Our mentorship program is one of a kind - a blended mentorship where mentors and protégés spend 5 consecutive Wednesdays on training sessions exploring themes from self-assessment to developing an action plan. The program which is a social approach to job search is offered over 3 sessions in a year (winter, spring and fall). At each session we meet for 5 consecutive Wednesdays from 6:00 - to 9:00 p.m. at 240 Catherine Street, Ottawa. The next session (winter 2018) starts on February 7, 2018.

Volunteer Mentors are asked to make a commitment to complete the training, and after the program to assist one IEP for at least 1 hour per week for up to 4 months.

Volunteer Mentors will learn and develop career and cultural competencies, leadership and community building skills, strategies for community inclusion, a method for assessing IEP competencies and contributions, strategic research methodologies, confidence building techniques, trust and listening skills.
