You will enhance your interest and learning in the performing arts and different forms of theatre. You will have the opportunity to attend performances, rehearsals, workshops of new plays and other events and to interact with professional theatre artists. You will meet new people as part of a committed team working in a positive environment to assist local artists to create new and innovative award winning theatre that is unique in Canada. Most of all, you are looking for satisfaction in making a contribution to the vibrancy and health of the local community and assisting a successful and respected arts organization to build a national and international profile for its work.
Odyssey is renowned for its unique and award-winning performances rooted in masked theatre and physical movement. We also run an innovative program to help writers develop new plays, workshops to train artists, apprenticeships for young performers and theatre readings and workshops for the public. How will the organization benefit?
Board members are critical to our success. Board members represent the community in ensuring the proper governance of Odyssey Theatre as a non-profit, charitable organization. They help the company set broad policy and provide valuable skills and advice to the Artistic Director and General Manager. Board members help build community support and public awareness of our work and raise the resources needed to create and perform excellent theatre in the Community.
