Summary of Urban Outreach:
The Urban Outreach initiative works with homeless individuals to meet basic needs – access to showers, clothing, information, health card application, and support. The volunteer position with the Urban Outreach Team is one of great importance. Using their creative and organizational skills, the volunteer will aid in helping staff run a smoother and more efficient program.

Major Responsibilities of Volunteer:
• Take towels out of the laundry basket and do the laundry
• Walk to various neighbourhood stores to purchase supplies such as food (i.e. snacks), socks, and underwear.
• Handle cash to purchase supplies in a responsible manner
• Update and organize the numerous resources in the Urban Outreach Walk-In office
• Organize the storage cupboards as needed

• Physically capable of walking a few city blocks and pulling a cart of supplies
• Comfortable doing laundry
• Good organizational skills
• A good sense of judgement
• Responsible
• Dependable
• Willing to learn
• Good sense of humour!
