Description

Helping With Furniture (http://www.hwfottawa.org) is a volunteer-run charitable organization that provides gently-used furniture and household goods to families and individuals in situations of hardship. Most of the families helped are referrals from social agencies. These families may have fled from conflict or life-threatening situations. Once a week, the organization collects the gently-used furniture and household items from donating residences, and delivers these items to the families in need.

HHWF's fundraising team relies on a dedicated group of volunteers who support particular initiatives on a timely basis. This can include:
• Support to a specific grant application
• Volunteering in-person at a fundraising event or booth
• Any other special projects or short-term, timely support

Time commitment: a few hours a month, as decided by the volunteer. Every two months, call-outs will be sent to fundraising team volunteers to sign up for specific initiatives according to their availability. This opportunity is great for those who are unable to commit to ongoing projects and would rather provide short term support to particular initiatives on an ad-hoc basis. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to identify their own tasks in support of the fundraising team.
