POSITION: Online Auction Assistant
We are in need of an experienced online auction assistant to join our team. The Online Auction Assistant will organize and manage online auctions, ensure that auction items are properly received, processed and priced, work with customers, clients and third parties to create and maintain a positive experience throughout the auction process. The ideal applicant will have some online auction experience, superior customer service skills, excellent computer skills, and be available for a minimum of 8 hours per week.

• Research item information, determine pricing of items to be sold and create written description of items
• Receive, sort, manage and properly store donation items
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and customers, resolve issues promptly and follow up throughout the auction process
• Create and maintain records of items and items receiving the most interest
• Take, edit and upload photos of items for listing on the appropriate website(s)
• Track and monitor communications with potential donors plus follow-up with confirmed donors
• Create promotional materials directed at potential donors and customers
• Assist to distribute auction items after sale is concluded
• Track listed items daily
• Research and build a network of auction donors by contacting potential donors over the phone, via email and/or in person
• Provide other support as required

• High school diploma
• Basic mathematics skills
• Knowledge of search engine optimization an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and great interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
• Excellent computer and internet navigation skills
• Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
• Results-oriented and driven to achieve goals
• Ability to think critically and make decisions quickly and/or under pressure
• Proactive and resourceful
• Ability to plan, schedule and complete work under limited supervision

• Previous online auction sales experience
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience
