Description

We have an amazing new music group at the Glebe Centre facilitated by a Music Therapist. We need volunteers to support this group by helping to porter residents, help with song books, and encourage singing and participation. VOLUNTEERS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON TUESDAY MORNINGS. There will be concerts every few months and it is truly wonderful to see our senior population sing for families and friends.

Volunteers will understand the impact music has on memory and social engagement. Seniors with dementia benefit in so many ways from music and the impact music has on memory loss.

Therapeutic music with a Music Therapist can have amazing benefits for seniors in long term care. Behaviors and boredom are mitigated when seniors are fully engaged in programming.
