Description

There is an endless amount of things to be done and with your help we can only get better at fighting poverty. Students are welcome to volunteer to fulfill their High School credit requirements.

We need your help every day, all the time and there is a place for everyone. You can help us with our retail operations at one of our thrift stores in the Ottawa area. You can help us by writing, picturing or videoing (Google says it’s a word) for our social media. Looking for subtle ways to help? Please check in when you visit our stores and leave a kind word. There are families out there that can’t make ends meet and individuals that need a kind hand to reach out. If you think that you can be one of those people, and if you think that you can help make a difference when others are desperate, please don’t hesitate!

We are looking to meet volunteers would like the opportunity to use their backgrounds, work experiences, strengths, and interests to volunteer at our thrift shop. We definitely need help with assisting customers, assisting the cashiers bagging, sorting donated items, tidying and organizing our stores, and many other things that we would like to talk about with you in person.

How will the organization benefit?
Saint Vincent de Paul Stores (Ottawa) Inc. is a religious charity thrift store with two locations in Ottawa. We accept donations from individuals and businesses and sell them at one of the two retail stores. We also provide clothing, housewares, and furniture to those in need here in Ottawa working with various social service organizations.

You will be able to give back to the community by assisting customers at the retail store by stocking the shelves and clothing racks and providing excellent customer service.

We currently try to maintain our expenses by blending paid staff with volunteers thus ensuring more is given to those in need.
