Description

SchoolBOX is a Canadian and Nicaraguan Charity that is 'Making Education Possible' in Nicaragua, Northern Canada and around the world.

Since 2016, we have built over 100 classrooms, installed 81 libraries, and delivered over 155K educational packages to students.

Our mandate is to empower children to get a basic education and improve their lives.

We are looking for a Volunteer Writer to help us spread our message to a wider donor base.

This position is essential to tell our story in creative ways to attract new donor groups, partners and volunteers.

Duties include:

• Creating media releases to promote SchoolBOX
• Dissemination of media releases to various media outlets across the country
• Brainstorm with team members on future communications pieces
• Editing of some communications pieces

Requirements:

• Strong writing skills
• Writing experience, or the willingness to learn and to improve
• Ability to tell a story
• Creative mindset
• Ability to meet deadlines


This is a volunteer position done from your home office that can cater to your schedule. Bi-monthly phone or in person meetings are essential in order to stay on track.
