CPAWS Ottawa Valley has been invited to set up an information booth at this year's Valhalla Sound Circus event in Kazabazua, Quebec. You can learn more about the festival at: www.valhallasoundcircus.com. The volunteer opportunity is on Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21 from about 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM - hours are to be confirmed and are flexible. The volunteers would be responsible for setting up an information table with handout materials, possibly a game or other educational activity and petitions on which we are collecting signatures. We are seeking at least one volunteer with a car as there is no transportation available. We will reimburse mileage. No experience with CPAWS is required, we will provide some basic training prior to the event. The event is bilingual and while it is not mandatory that you speak both languages, we are hoping to have at least one bilingual volunteer among the group. We are seeking 4 people. This will be our first time at this festival, we are looking forward to meeting a new demographic and sharing information and engaging them in conservation.

How will this volunteer opportunity benefit you?
This is a great way to experience an awesome festival for free! We will ensure that you have plenty of time to take in the attractions. You will also meet other like minded volunteers and learn about local environmental issues.

How will the organization benefit?
The organization will benefit in many ways, we have another event planned on Saturday, July 20 (Parks Day) and have limited capacity to take part in both events. The volunteers will help us have a presence at Valhalla and help us connect with new people and also help us evaluate whether we should attend more events like Valhalla (music festivals).
