Description

WHAT DO OUR VOLUNTEERS DO?

Frontier College's Homework Club Program offers homework and reading support for children and youth across Canada. As a volunteer with the Homework Club Program at Sunnyside Library, you will help children and youth grades 1 to 6 to develop their reading and writing skills in English. Based on your own competencies, you may also help them develop skills in mathematics, science, and French.

Volunteering with the Homework Club Program is an excellent way to gain experience in early childhood education or literacy tutoring! It is also an ideal environment in which to contribute meaningfully to your community. We require no prior teaching experience and provide you with all of the training and materials you need. Just bring your communication skills, patience, enthusiasm and love of learning!

WHEN AND WHERE DO OUR ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE?

The Homework Club Program at Sunnyside Public Library runs from September 2019 to June 2020. The program will take place on Mondays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Volunteers are encouraged to participate weekly, but scheduling is flexible and can accommodate your availabilities. Note also that our other Homework Club across the city are always looking for volunteers!
