Description

Ottawa Family Cinema is a non-profit registered charity run by volunteers for more than 40 years. The Cinema is open from mid-September until the beginning of May, excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter weekends. Shows are on every Saturday at 2:00 pm, plus selected Friday evenings at 7:00 pm (usually at least twice per month).
We are looking for an assistant to the manager of the Snack Bar, which offers popcorn, hot dogs, coffee, hot chocolate, chocolate bars, etc. All supplies for the snack bar need to be purchased from our suppliers and delivered to the cinema Friday evenings and or Saturdays in which we are operating. Training will be provided to suitable candidates. Below are the major responsibilities and qualifications for this position. Major Responsibilities
• Purchasing and delivering inventory for each item offered at snack bar based on Manager's assessment.
• Effectively communicate with OFC manager about any issues or concerns in regard to the Snack bar and help plan corrective action
Qualifications
• Organized, self-directed, with strong communication skills
• Physically able to handle inventory...some lifting required, help available at the cinema to unload
• Vehicle is required
• Giving all receipts of purchases to Accounts Manager
• Sense of humour

You will be providing a much needed service to the cinema in continuing to provide excellent service to our community of movie goers. You will have input into the purchase snack bar inventory. Chance to work alongside other volunteers who are like a family.

How will the organization benefit?
We have decided to lighten the load of the Snack bar manager who in previous times did it all. So you will be of great assistance to another volunteer.
Helping by providing a service to our patrons and raising money for the cinema. The snack bar provides the cinema atmosphere and is greatly utilized by our patrons.
