Looking for a volunteer role where you have an opportunity to provide companionship and support to both the resident and the family. Consider becoming a palliative care Volunteer in a Long-Term Care Home. You would be spending time with the resident, most often alone, providing whatever gives the resident the most comfort and peace of mind. Activities can include quietly sitting, handholding, reading favourite passages, listening to soothing music. You will receive in house orientation, training, instructions and be supported by the care team.
