SOG Leadership Team Administrator Assistant

* Become part of the SOG Leadership Team
* Get to know all aspects of the program and the administration
* Participate in the SOG Leadership Team in strategic planning, communications with the COG OSO Steering Committee, the SOG Advisory Group and Down to Earth E-News in conjunction with the Leadership Team.

Attend some COG OSO Steering Committee meetings as needed in person or virtually.

Enjoy attending occasional SOG events as possible to participate in the Vision at Work!

This is a volunteer opportunity that would involve approximately 10-12 hours per month on a flexible basis but would require at least a one-year commitment with availability for one monthly evening meeting in person or possibly virtually.

It is a chance to give back to the community especially to seniors in a meaningful way and to broaden your understanding about the ‘organic world’

Senior Organic Gardeners (SOG) is a program of Canadian Organic Growers-local chapter working to enhance the quality of life, health and social opportunities with seniors through active participation in organic gardening for nutritious food and the joys of good food.

We ask for references and provide for free police checks for the candidate who has given us a CV, has had an interview and has been invited to the role subject to Steering Committee approval.

The Ottawa – St. Lawrence – Outaouais chapter of Canadian Organic Growers (COG OSO) is a regional chapter of a national charity, whose mandate is to lead local and national communities towards sustainable organic stewardship of land, food and fibre while respecting nature, upholding social justice and protecting natural resources. COG OSO is a lively and enthusiastic group based in Ottawa, offering numerous events and programs year-round to support knowledge and skills for farmers, gardeners, educators, children, seniors, and anyone who is interested in eating healthy food and living in healthy environments.
