Duties of Volunteer: 1 in 10 people have Chronic Kidney Disease and many others are at risk. The Kidney Foundation works to increase awareness of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) so people are better aware of the risk factors leading to the disease and how to prevent it. We are looking for Ottawa area office and event volunteers who will be responsible for Kidney Foundation of Canada various activities. As a valued part of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the Eastern Ontario Walks and volunteer appreciation event. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the health field, interact with the community and health providers, and to develop skills in communications. This will also give you the opportunity to assist with the Foundation's biggest fundraising campaign of the year! Primary responsibilities or tasks: --Recruit previous volunteers for events --Assist in calling to invite attendees to events Dates and Times: --Starting as soon as possible, dates and times are flexible.
Required Skills/Experience Necessary: --Has an interest in or experience with kidney health/disease or health promotion. --Excellent communication skills in person and on the phone --Easy going and pleasant manner --Is flexible and adaptable to changing situations --Can work independently
