COVID-19 Update

VO is implementing a plan focused on recruitment and deployment of volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19. As part of that plan we will be working with Ottawa Public Health and other agencies to ensure proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Within the next week, volunteers will be able to register for COVID-19 specific volunteering, including virtual volunteering, food delivery and transportation, and agencies will be able to post and/or send VO their COVID-19 specific needs for volunteer matching. Description

Meals on Wheels Ottawa is looking for volunteer Servers! Join our team of 400+ dedicated volunteers from across Ottawa and give back to your community. As a volunteer, you will support our program that provides nutritious food to seniors and adults with disabilities to assist them in maintaining their health and independence at home.

Volunteer Servers deliver hot meals between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, leaving from one of our kitchens throughout the city. Meals are usually delivered in Server/Driver teams. Servers do not need to have a vehicle and will be paired with a volunteer Driver. In addition to delivering a nutritious meal, volunteers offer a safety and security check and a daily visit.

The volunteer commitment is flexible and is usually once a week.

Volunteer Position Requirements:
• Police Record Check - Level 3 Vulnerable Sector Check
• Orientation and training provided
