COVID-19 Update

VO is implementing a plan focused on recruitment and deployment of volunteers to respond to the volunteer needs specific to COVID-19. As part of that plan we will be working with Ottawa Public Health and other agencies to ensure proper screening and training protocals to safeguard the health of those volunteering and those they are assisting. Within the next week, volunteers will be able to register for COVID-19 specific volunteering, including virtual volunteering, food delivery and transportation, and agencies will be able to post and/or send VO their COVID-19 specific needs for volunteer matching. We are looking for a pair of dynamic volunteers to join our team and help with our monthly sort!

The Ottawa Paw Pantry is looking for sort coordinators who will oversee the distribution process in getting food to the families we serve in the city.

In this role, you will work closely with the Client Relations Manager and Driver Coordinator to manage food package assembly based on client needs. The Sort Coordinators also maintain an up-to-date inventory document and alerts the Managing Partners when there is a need for a specific type of food.


Keep track of inventory, both in special diets and general stock levels
Assemble packages for clients on a monthly basis
Ensure storage unit is maintained in an organized and neat fashion


Experience in a pet food environment a strong asset (i.e. vet clinic, pet store)
logistics management experience a strong asset
Proficiency in Google Docs
Proven organizational skills
Pays special attention to detail
Ability to work independently
